Superconductors for High-Fields Applications

The groups main projects are:

  • Development of (Nb,Ta,Ti)3Sn superconducting wires for over 21 Tesla compact magnetic resonance magnets.
  • 21 T magnet.

    Field and strain scaling laws for Nb3Sn bronze wires
  • Magnetic response of Nb3Sn single crystals and bronze routemultifilamentary wires by fundamental and higher harmonics of the ac magnetic susceptibility
  • TEM compositional analysis of Nb3Sn bronze wires
    Inhomogenous phase distribution in Fe-sheated ex-situ MgB2 tapes
  • Effect of HIP treatment of Bi-2223/Ag tapes.

The main activities carried out under MaNEPare the development of both low- and high-Tc superconducting materials for high-fields application.
